Biography
Michelle NZE was born November 10th , 1973 in Libreville
/ Gabon.
As a child, Michelle was very much interested in painting,
but the passion and her future as an artist awakes through an
initiation rite of the Fang ethnic group in 1993.
An artistic instruction in Niamey (Niger) and experiences during
several voyages on the African continent lead her finally to the
profession of a painter in 1997.
After numerous exhibitions, the Ministry for Economic Affairs
in Gabon invites her to represent her country at the World Exposition
Expo 2000 Hanover, where Michelle NZE also wins the Nelson
Mandela contest of the “Nelson Mandela Children Fund”.
Her desire to conquer Europe as an artist and to show the German
and worldwide audience more about her traditional African roots,
inspire her to settle down in Germany.
Michelle NZE lives in Berlin, where she is working at
her own art studio at Friedrichstraße near “Checkpoint
Charlie”. Since November 2003 one of her works of art is
also part of the art collection of the Lower house of the German Parliament.
